Christ the Lord is risen today

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply, Alleluia!

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Lo! the Sun’s eclipse is o’er, Alleluia!
Lo! He sets in blood no more, Alleluia!

Vain the stone, the watch, the seal, Alleluia!
Christ hath burst the gates of hell, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids His rise, Alleluia!
Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia!
Foll’wing our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

Hail, the Lord of earth and Heaven, Alleluia!
Praise to Thee by both be given, Alleluia!
Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!
Hail, the resurrection, thou, Alleluia!

King of glory, Soul of bliss, Alleluia!
Everlasting life is this, Alleluia!
Thee to know, Thy power to prove, Alleluia!
Thus to sing and thus to love, Alleluia!

All apologies

Wow...has it really been over two months since I last updated here? I apologize sincerely to anyone who may be reading this (if, in fact, anyone still checks for updates). I update my LiveJournal much more frequently; I guess I should find a way to update both here and there at the same time. The thing is, I wanted this to be more serious and less personal...but then, as a full-time graduate student I guess I don't really have time to be a "serious blogger." I guess this will have to get more personal, or perhaps I'll cut it off.

Since my last post in February, I have started up a baseball team (the Birmingham Barracudas of the newly-formed Birmingham Metro Baseball League); I've installed a French drain in my back yard; the women's basketball team at UA finished their season with a loss in the first round of the SEC tournament, lightening my work load a bit; and the rest has been pretty boring by most peoples' standards.

We did visit Atlanta a few weeks ago; I got to see a good number of my old coworkers at a wedding that same weekend--and I miss them all more than ever. If I ever had the chance to return to the State Bar of Georgia, I'd jump at it without hesitation.

Today is the day before Easter; tomorrow my brother and sister are coming to visit for Easter brunch (since none of us were really able to go home for the weekend). It'll be fun.
